Samsung Viral Follows the Likes of Cardo Systems
Sumsung’s new viral uses the same tactic as Cardo Systems. In 2008 Cardo Systems released a to be viral in a couple different languages in the attempts to sell more Bluetooth devices. Essentially, the video presented a curious mystery begging the question: can you actually pop popcorn with a couple of active cell phones?
The tactic we are specifically talking about is strategically titling of videos [the viral had many components]. The strategy is not a secret but the way it was used initially starts off as a mystery. Let’s take a look at the new Samsung viral now.
The video was posted on March 16th with the initial title of “Extreme Sheep LED Art”. When the video began to take off, or peak hopefully for their sake it carries on to new heights to maximize brand exposure, the title was swapped. Util recently the video was a glaring advertisement for Samsung where before it was simply a small mention at the end of the clip.
On March 22nd or 23rd the ad became whole and every view from that point forward will keep Samsung smiling. The title changed to include Samsung in it and now has been ommited again. Slightly strange activity but for Samsung there are still many mentions of LED in the more info section, so it won’t be completely forgetten now that the title is back to its original. Cardo systems also waited until the mystery around their cell phone popcorn was being debunked before they changed the title to include their company. Now their video has got such reaction that it is difficult to find amongst all the responses.
We will follow this to see if it has peaked and hey maybe just maybe we will see a sheep mascot emerge from Samsung branding in the future.
Cheers
